KWCM joined The Community Chest Dress Casual Day annually to support the charity. In this year, KWCM has the dresscode theme of "Staycation" to spread the happy message.
"Construction Industry Lo Pan Rice Campaign" Volunteer work


Food is the universal language for love. In support of the “Lo Pan Rice” community outreach campaign organised by the Construction Industry Council, our KWCM volunteers teamed up with Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service to pack and distribute 600 lunch boxes and epidemic preventive supplies to the vulnerable groups in Tai Po in October. We hope to extend our community support to the needy so that they have one less thing to worry about.

At Mid-Autumn Festival, KWCM Social Club distributed the Mid-Autumn Festival gift packs to staff which can practise the social responsibility of the enterprise by care and love. Particularly, the gift box can be recycled to lantern to comply with the eco-friendly principles of KWCM.

Construction Industry Community Caring Campaign


KWCM also made donation in favour of the "Construction Industry Caring Campaign" and volunteered at the preventive kits preparation activities organised by Construction Industry Council of Hong Kong to provide financial and other support for registered workers affected by the epidemic.

KWCM has always been giving back to society. Amid COVID-19 pandemic, seeing the shortage of anti-epidemic supplies like surgical masks and hand sanitisers, KWCM and ELCHK Tai Wo Integrated Youth Service Centre gave out anti-epidemic kits to 30 families in need to support their immediate wants. KWCM also cares the health of their employees, and distributed organic DIY aromatherapy alcohol hand rub and hand sanitisers to every staff to protect them from the coronavirus. We are all in this together!

Cuttlefish Fishing Tour


Summer is the peak season for Cuttlefish. KWCM Social Club organized a Cuttlefish fishing tour at evening to conglomerate employees from different sites for gathering. Tai Po Dragon Boat Festival


KWCM provides all employees with opportunities to develop their potential in sports or their hobbies. Dragon Boat team is the best example to showcase their talents in physical strength through joining the dragon boat race with other corporate representatives. This year, KWCM Dragon boat team has joined the Dragon Boat Race held in Tai Po to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival in 2019. To motivate the team spirit of representatives, Management team became the cheering team members to show their full support. Finally, KWCM Dragon Boat Team achieved Second Runner-up of the competition.

KWCM always upholds the belief that “ contributing to our society where one benefits”and thus it endeavours to promote environmental conservation. KWCM staff joined the beach cleaning campaign at Ting Kok Road, Tai Po. All had a fresh appreciation for the importance of keeping the coastline clean, at the end of the campaign.

Health Checks


Prevention is better than cure. KWCM Social Club arranges the regular body check for employees to maintain their health and prevent health problem. Professional Healthcare team was invited to our different sites to conduct the health check like measurement on weight and height, blood pressure test, ECG and the like.

Winter Poon Choi Feast


KWCM Social Club often organizes activities to foster communication and team spirit among employees. It has held a “Winter Poon Choi Feast” for more than 200 staff at the K. Wah Concrete Customer Service Centre in Tai Po Sam Mun Tsai Iin mid-January. They enjoyed the steaming hot poon choi outdoor under the cool weather and spent a wonderful night together.

KWCM sent 20 racers to join the Tai Po District Dragon Boat Race 2018 this year. They participated in the Mixed Race. The Dragon Boat Team had an enjoyable time showed a strong team spirit on that day.

KWCM organizes Balm Making Workshop


Summer in Hong Kong is wet and hot. It is a perfect time for mosquitoes breeding also skin is easily to be affected by eczema due to climate. In view of that, KWCM Social Club invited "One Home One Soap" instructor to teach employees how to make their own comfrey and insect repellent balm on August 7th. Staff enjoyed the class a lot as the balms have a wide range of functions. Each employee can have both comfrey and insect repellent balm.
KWCM relieves summer heats


KWCM Social Club pays attention to the health of all employees. In July 2018, KWCM Social Club specially arranged hundreds of iced and juicy watermelons for frontline employees who work outdoor under high temperature every day. Not only distributing the iced watermelon, there was also watermelon eating competitions to help employees cooling off this summer.

KWCM Social Club specially held a Valentine's Day Bouquet Workshop on 12 Feb, giving male colleagues a chance to make a precious gift to their other half. Again KWCM invited the volunteers from Hong Chi Kwong Fuk Wai Yin Workshop to spend such a romantic evening with us in Kowloon Bay Office.

On January 31, KWCM Social Club organized a tour to Tea House Theatre and enjoy Chinese Opera Show, Standard Chartered Tea House Theatre Experience.Tea House Theatre is newly built in West Kowloon Cultural District and designed for gaining insight into the history of the Chinese Opera art form. Apart from learning the heritage of Chinese traditional theatre at the same time, colleagues can also enjoy traditional tea and dim sum during the performance.

Lantern Festival is always a perfect ending for the Lunar New Year. On this day, KWCM follows the traditional customs to celebrate with colleagues. Everyone including frontline staff had the opportunities to taste the delicious “tang yuan” prepared by KWCM Social Club Committee, wishing all the staff a happy reunion with family and friends.

2019 Shanghai Commercial POK OI Cycle For Millions


There are a number of cycling enthusiasts in KWCM. Another year, employees took part in the Pok Oi Cycle for Millions, the city’s largest annual charity cycling event, on 10 Mar. This event aims at promoting cycling and green living. With full energy and passion, riders successfully complete the 13km race within an hour.
Kokedama workshop


KWCM Social Club arranged a Kokedama Workshop on 22nd Feb. We invited a professional lecturer to teach employees how to use the grass moss as a gadget to secure the plant. In addition to teaching the planting technique from ancient Japan, lecturer also share how to take care of various plants, so that students can fully understand their Kokedama in different kinds of plants.

To prepare for the upcoming dragon boat event in Hong Kong, KWCM purchased an official dragon boat this year. The Dragon Boat Eye-dotting Ceremony was successfully held on March 1 at Tai Po Concrete Customer Service Center. KWCM management team and the dragon boat team players prayed for the regular trainings and races all safe and sound. After the ceremony, the dragon boat team players took their first step onto the boat and enjoyed the fun in the sea. The players have full team spirit and will definitely achieve great results in the event.
Secretary for the Environment visit K.Wah Construction Products Limited Company


The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, went to Tuen Mun Eco Park on 8 Mar to visit recycling industry. He exchanged views with us on environmental issues. K. Wah Construction Products Limited established a plant to produce eco-products in EcoPark, Tuen Mun in 2015. During the visit, Mr. Wong Kam-Sing and the group has deeper understanding on how we collect glass bottles as well as how the glass cullet being applied into a wide range of concrete blocks and pavers with different dimensions, strengths, colors and types.
Food Rescue Campaign 2017


Continue to support Food Angel (a food rescue & assistance program implemented by Bo Charity Foundation Limited), KWCM Social Club organized again a Food Rescue Campaign during CNY this year. Colleagues are encouraged to donate surplus food and show generous support in food waste reduction.
Earth Hour 2017


As an eco-friendly construction materials supplier, K. Wah Construction Materials (“KWCM”) participates in environmental protection proactively and spares no efforts to support. "World Hour Foundation" (WWF) launch the annual international environmental campaign "Earth Hour Earth Hour" on March 25 at 8:30 pm, KWCM pledges to take part in the event and encourage colleagues to turn off unnecessary lights and computer monitors for an hour to reduce energy consumption during lunchtime on 24 March. KWCM wishes to awaken colleagues to focus on the rapid climate change, together to build a harmonious environment between mankind and nature.

Pok Oi Cycle for Millions


K. Wah Construction Materials (“KWCM”) has taken part in the Pok Oi Cycle for Millions, the city’s largest annual charity cycling event, for seven consecutive years. The event aims at promoting cycling and green living as well as raising funds for the establishment of the largest nursing and residential care home for the elderly in Hong Kong. With the support of their family and friends, KWCM riders successfully completed the 13km race, and had a great time enjoying the magnificent scenery of the Stonecutters Bridge, Rambler Channel and the Victoria Harbour along the way.

KWCM Social Club invited professional lecturer to deliver a Wellness Talk: “Auricular Therapy” on 24 Aug 2016. She shared how to accelerate human body lymph arranging poison and raise immune system function.
Hong Kong Mine Challenge 2017


K. Wah Construction Materials (“KWCM”) participated at the Hong Kong Mine Challenge, the first mine-themed charitable race in Hong Kong, to raise funds for the conservation of culture and revitalization of the mine village. Playing the role as miners in the old days, KWCM staff completed various tasks in the Abandoned Ma On Shan Iron Mine and Mine Village while appreciating the natural landscape of Ma On Shan along the way. Growing from a quarrying pioneer in 1950s into an integrated eco-friendly construction materials supplier of today, KWCM is glad to pass on the heritage of mining and contribute to revitalization.

Over 300 staff dressed in team tees worked hand in hand to clean up Tai Po Sha Lan Tan in an effort to raise the awareness of marine conservation.

KWCM Social Club joined Sowers Action Challenging 12 Hours Charity Marathon by sending staff to the 42 km and 10 km races respectively. Apart from raising fund to support education in China, members were also given the opportunity to experience the hardship faced by mainland children in rural areas where they have to spend hours travelling to school.
